The unfortunate news from London that Clifford Chance, largest (by gross revenue) law firm in the world, has undertaken redundancy consultations concerning seventy to eighty associates serves as a reminder that ILI has undertaken to renew what was a very popular feature, the personnel and practice group current awareness spreadsheet.
This spreadsheet is not a formal part of the database but is generally made available as an added gratis service to subscribers. It is hosted on TypePad.
Although it can hardly be considered comprehensive, the spreadsheet, compiled in our office here, attempts to note branch office openings and closings, large personnel adjustments within firms (including layoffs), new or discontinued practice areas and movements of groups of attorneys from one firm to another. All entries are sourced, and the first entries are recorded from about mid-November 2008, around the time of the issuance of the 2008 NLJ 250.
