International Legal Technology Association Meeting 8/24

Next week several of us from Incisive Media will be heading to Washington DC to attend ILTA's Annual Meeting. 

As with the rest of the world, technology departments have felt the pain from the recession, but this group in some cases has actually fared better than most.  The mantra I hear from IT departments globally is almost always: Cheaper, Faster, Better.  It's true whether they're talking about a server, a system or a process.

The recession has caused businesses as a whole to find ways to do things Cheaper Faster and Better.  The successful technology departments I've spoken to, react with casual confidence.  That's what they've been doing all along.  Cheaper, faster, better.

The annual conference I'm sure will prove to be as jam-packed with new ideas and content as it usually is.  Stop by our booth if you're at the show.

Incisive Legal Intelligence

First, an introduction.  I'm Kevin Iredell.  I'm the VP for the Division that includes ILI.  My group also includes business of law products and what was formerly known as Altman Weil publications.  (There's more about me if you're so inclined, in the About section.)

I'm not the only 'new' face in town.  Chuck Lowry after many years here, decided to pursue other endeavors and left the company last month.  In his place Christine Ritchie has been hired as Director of Sales.  Christine is working on reaching out to all current subscribers.  If you haven't heard from her, feel free to reach out to her directly at christine.ritchie@incisivemedia.com.

Today we published a new survey:  Economic Confidence Index, June 2009.  We will be surveying leaders in the industry to gauge perceptions on the economy.  What we found in this survey is that while the current situation looks grim, optimism for the future is high.  (Full results available here.)
