Touchpoint Metrics recently surveyed the marketing executives of 100 law firms and found:
* 71% had either conducted or planned to conduct formal client research (surveys or interviews).
Of those who had previously conducted client surveys or interviews:
* 85% answered "yes" to the question, "Did you generate new business from the clients your surveyed?"
* 40% answered "yes" to the question, "Have you used your survey results to generate new clients?"
