“Adam Smith, Esq.”, aka/ Bruce McEwan, devoted his blog commentary October 6th to several observations about the Global 100 list, published in this month’s American Lawyer (and now available in searchable spreadsheet format). Smith/McEwan notes that 98% of the Global 100 are based in the former British Empire (U.K., U.S., Canada, Australia), which he says means that 1) English is the international language of business; and 2) and “far more important,” he says, “I believe that the Anglo-Saxon heritage of the common law is infinitely elastic”.
