Law Firm Mergers: They’re Now Called “Day Pitney”

On January 1, 2007, the merger of Hartford-based Day, Berry & Howard and Pitney Hardin, one of the oldest firms in New Jersey, became effective, creating  Day Pitney LLP, a firm with nine offices located in New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Boston, and Washington D.C. In the most recent NLJ 250 survey, Day Berry ranked 166^th with 251 attorneys. Pitney Hardin fell just under the wire, with 170 attorneys. The last-placed firm on the NLJ 250 had 172 lawyers. Of the two, only Day Berry was ranked in the most recent Am Law 200, garnering 170^th place with $122 million in gross revenues in its most recently completed fiscal year.
