M&A League Tables Released

Mergers and acquisition intelligence company, mergermarket has posted its 2006 M&A league tables  covering both financial advisors and legal advisors. The rankings are broken down geographically as well as by dollar volume and number of deals. Leading the North America legal advisor tables are Skadden, Sullivan & Cromwell, Simpson Thacher, Wachtell, and Cleary.  U.S. firms also made it to the top 5 on the
European list. After U.K.   powerhouses Freshfields, Linklaters, and Clifford Chance (ranked 1 through 3), were Sullivan & Cromwell , and Cleary Gottlieb. Though the London-based firms also dominated the Asia-Pacific tale, with Linklaters, Slaughter & May, Allen & Overy, and Herbert Smith in the top 4 slots, New York-based Davis Polk & Wardwell wound up in 5^th place on that list.
